THE JESUS PRAYER
In silence and stillness and before an icon of Christ Jesus, the Trisagion prayers are said carefully and slowly before the Jesus Prayer is said. The Jesus Prayer should be said with love and attention, using a chotki to mark the number of times said. It is suggested that, if prayer in a group, that one person should say only as many prayers as there are knots on his or her chotki, before someone takes over and continues. After the Jesus Prayer has been said a short period of total silence should be kept before the dismissal prayers are said. Those gathered should depart in complete silence.
